A downloadable tool

This is an improved version of a diffraction simulation program I submitted as part of a high school research project. It's written in C# utilising the MonoGame framework. The math library used is Math.Net.

Features:

  • simulates visible light diffraction using either the Fresnel or Fraunhofer approximations
  • allows you to change diffraction parameters such as: wavelength, distance to screen, aperture dimensions or mesh density (lines/mm)
  • provides an easy to use interface to make a custom slit shape when available


All art assets are from kenneys cursor pack. https://kenney.nl/

*The mesh simulation best works when you lower the aperture width and height to 2mm, otherwise the resulting image is too small meaning you are really zoomed into the diffraction maxima and won't be able to see anything.
